Antoni Muntadas
Bio
Catalan artist of conceptual art and introducer and disseminator of video art. Antoni Muntadas, born in Spain in 1942, studied architecture at the University of Barcelona. He exhibited in Madrid and Barcelona a pictorial work linking pop and realistic video. He has participated in several group exhibitions, such as the Seventh Havana Biennial in Cuba and the Whitney Biennial, his work is found in different collections around the world, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Statement
From a critical perspective, his work addresses social, political and communication issues around the world, such as the relationship between public and private space within certain social frameworks or information channels and the way they are used to censor or enact ideas.
