Fernando Sinaga

Bio

Fernando Sinaga (Zaragoza, Spain, 1951) is a professor of sculpture at the University of Salamanca and his work can be found in important institutions such as the MNCARS, the Fundació Miró a Mallorca (1996), the IVAM in Valencia (2005), the Pablo Serrano Museum of Zaragoza (2006) and the MUSAC de León (2012). Sinaga represented Spain in the XX Bienal de Sao Paulo in Brazil and in the Spanish Pavilion of the Expo in Hannover 2000.

Statement

Fernando Sinaga belongs to the generation of sculptors who emerged in the eighties in Spain whose work is related to concerns where the perception and experience of the viewer are part of their aesthetic discourse. Time and space are essential categories in the conception of his works along with chance and destiny. In addition, Sinaga is one of the Spanish artists who has reflected the most on public art, carrying out different institutional projects.
