Bio

Nicola Costantino was born in 1954 in Rosario, where she studied Bellas Artes, specializing in sculpture.
We can find the origin of her artwork at her father’s operating room or her mother’s tailor shop.
Sculptore, taxidermist, cooker, designer, always on the search for new techniques. For a while, she has been the main character of her own videos and photographs.
Her international career started in 1998 when she represented Argentina at the Sao Paulo Biennale. Ever since, she has participated at numerous exhibitions in cities all over the world, like New York, Liverpool, Tel Aviv and Zurich, among others. In 2000 she was part of an individual exhibition at Deitch Projects in New York.
Interested in video performance, in 2014 she created an autobiography filmed, but she could also represent historical characters, like Eva Peron, on a piece that she presented at Venice Biennale in 2013.
She is currently working with molecular cooking and gelling, which she anticipates in ArteBa 2017 edition.
