Rimer Cardillo
Bio
The artist is a professor emeritus at the State University of New York, New Paltz. His work includes prints, photographs, sculptures and installations as a result of his research on environmental and cross-cultural concerns. In 2001 he represented Uruguay at the Venice Biennale. In 2003 his work is featured by the Tate Modern in London and in 2004, his works are presented at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art in SUNY New Paltz. The Cupís installation takes place at Temple Sapce´Museo Kiscell in Budapest. His works are also on display at the Nassau County Museum of Art. The artist lives and works in the Hudson River Valley and New York City, although he maintains his studio in Montevideo. His works are in museums and private collections around the world.
