Bio

A doctor of Visual Poetics (ECA / USP, 2020), Master in Visual Poetics (ECA / USP, 2015) and Bachelor of Visual Arts (IART / UERJ, 2010). Jimson Vilela has been working as a visual artist since 2008, his main solo exhibitions: Adaptable to the space that words occupy (Centro Cultural São Paulo, 2015), Symptoms and Secondary Effects of Sintonia (Casa Modernista, 2013) and Cambio (Nuevo Museo Energía Arte Contemporáneo, 2012). His works are in public collections such as MAC Niterói’s, MAM-RJ’s, MAR-RJ’s and Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo’s.

Statement

Jimson Vilela has the word, the language and the grammar as part of his artistic poetics, as well as the supports: the book and the paper. “Distortion” is a direct relationship with the blank sheets of paper in the book inserted in its usual reading environment.
