Ariel Orozco

Bio

Ariel Orozco (Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, 1979) is a graduate from the Visual Arts Academy of Trinidad, Cuba, 1999, and the Higher Institute of Arts, Havana, Cuba, 2005. He is based in Mexico City. He has been part of solo and group shows in New York, London, France, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland and Australia, among other cities. He is represented in renown international collections such as Daros Latinamerica; Anita Zabludowicz, London; Museo de arte Moderno, Mexico; Jumex, Mexico, et al.

Statement

In his work, Ariel Orozco makes a formal and conceptual synthesis of places, objects and people he has interacted with at a given time; and events that have called his attention. His works are vehicles through which he translates and transports these intimate, personal experiences to the public space.
