Mariana Rodrigues
Bio
Born in Osasco, in 1995- Brazil. Lives and works in different places.
She is graduated in Digital Design at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi (Brazil). Her pictorial research of an abstract nature is linked to the study of ancestral practices in which body, mind and spirit are understood as a unit, materialized in different supports, where matter, gesture, shapes and colors transcend a rational understanding. The artist's practice is linked to ritualistic processes, the result of her displacements through various regions of Brazil (she adheres to the nomadic philosophy of life), subjective insights into her own spirituality and research on the cosmovision of African matrices and of Ancient Kemet (Egypt). She is also a member of Nacional Trovoa, a collective of racialized women, participants in the Brazilian contemporary art circuit. Her work has already been exhibited in important Brazilian institutions such as Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, MAR-Museu de Arte do Rio and Instituto Tomie Ohtake.
