Alejandro Vega Beuvrin

Bio

Alejandro Vega Beuvrin (Caracas, 1979). Architect and plastic artist. He has received recognition, awards, and publications for his work as an architect (2004–2012) and as a professor of architecture, design, and plastic arts at the Simón Bolívar University, Caracas (2007–2014). In 2013 he obtains the first place for the conceptual development and execution of three sculptures on an urban scale to be placed in the city of Caracas. In 2014 he moves to Barcelona, ​​Spain from where he establishes a workshop to continue his sculptural work. In 2015, the Mayor's Office of Libertador de Caracas entrusted him with the conceptualization of three sculptures to be placed in the Cipriano Castro Park of the El Paraíso urbanization in Caracas. In 2017 he participates in Carré Latin with an urban-scale sculpture that remained for forty days in the gardens of the Palais Royal, Paris. His main theme in his sculptures is the absence of volume, he simulates two-dimensional objects that escape our three-dimensional physical world, his sculptures arise from the intersection of planes in space, arranged in simple operations of symmetries, parallelism and perpendicularity . He currently lives and works in Barcelona, ​​Spain.
