Statement

In her work, Liliana addresses the representation of black women in contemporary culture through the lenses of gender, race and identity. Her artwork includes sculpture, photography, video, collective interventions, installation and performance. In her artistic projects she has unearthed archives on resistance movements and anti-racist initiatives, as well as the presence of the Afro population in Colombia in order to shed light on power relations, around the image, territory, race and the body of black women. She has exhibited at the 41st National Artists Salon in Colombia; the IX Biennial of the Museum of Modern Art of Bogota (MAMBO); at PST at the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), Long Beach, California; also in Spain, Mexico and France.
