Carolina Antoniadis
Bio
Antoniadis' work reveals the influence of the modernist movement in its organic forms and in the flow of beautiful feminine images. Textiles and ceramics are always present in overlapping layers. Among the most important prizes he won in 2016 the Grand Prize Acquisition of Painting, and the First Prize of Drawing, both in National Salon of Visual Arts. In 2018 he presented at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes the book Domus Ornamental, a journey through 30 years of artistic production.
Statement
I always wrote painting, I am interested in the indescribable narrative of painting. Expressing in images the speed of thoughts, the mental noise. Micro stories that are articulated without a logic, like disordered thoughts that fluctuate between everyday scenes. They coexist in the same space and time with circular, concentric figures that try to reproduce the centrifugal movement of ideas. I am interested in nature with its flashes and shadows that fill spaces between thoughts.
