Lucía Mara

Bio

Born in Buenos Aires in 1988 where she lives and works. Mara studied Film Directing at the Universidad del Cine (F.U.C) in Buenos Aires. Obtained a postgraduate degree in film and photography from U.C.L.A and studied at the International Center Of Photography (I.C.P) in NYC. Worked with the renowned master engraver Dan Benveniste, in Madrid. Participates at International Fairs such as arteBA, Buenos Aires Photo, Art Basel Miami Beach, ARCO Madrid, LimaPhoto and Este Arte Punta del Este.

Statement

Cinematographic techniques, analog photography and photogravure create the work of Lucía Mara. Capturing the beauty that exists without anyone having consciously created it and often without anyone noticing it. The natural space is the city and the unexpected beauty of everyday life. The beautiful and the memorable is anywhere and very often where nobody looks for it, it is invisible until it is captured by the photographer.
