María Noël
Bio
Born in Buenos Aires in 1965. She studies Fine Arts at the Prilidiano Pueyrredón National School, and studies philosophy and art history at the University of Buenos Aires. She frequented prestigious workshops: Aurelio Macchi, Alberto Delmonte and Luis Barragán teachers who left a deep mark. Lives Naples and Milan and learns papermaking techniques and vegetable dyes in Cairo. Her works are part of numerous private collections all around the world.
Statement
She believes in beauty as an absolute value and in its multiplicity of facets that allows artists to continue discovering. With a great intellectual background she bases her work on literary, musical, philosophical and artistic concepts. She captures highly complex ideas and concepts through shapes and colors. The eloquence in the materials and textures refer us to archaic cultures and her native Argentina. In a very organic way María manufactures her own materials pigments to papers.
