Ricardo Benaim

Bio

Ricardo Benaim (Caracas, 1949). Graduated from the Institute of Design Neumann Foundation of Caracas in 1972, studied techniques of recorded at Atelier 63 in Paris between 1980-82 and since then date until 1986 he enters the Pratt Institute in New York, where he also works as a teacher. In his active career, he has presented individual exhibitions in Venezuela, France, Argentina, Colombia, Puerto Rico, the United States, Japan, Brazil, and Canada, among which stand out: «Latin American Utopias», Art Museum of the Americas, Washington (1991); «Utopias», Gallery Diana Lowenstein, Buenos Aires, and Ambrosino Gallery, Coral Gables (1992); “A vision of GAIA”, Museum of Contemporary Art of Caracas Sofía Imber and “VII Festival de America do Sul”, Corumbá, Brazil (2011). He has been the author of collective projects in which he has worked summoning plastic creators of diverse origins; among them are worthy of special mention, «A framework for the land» (1992-99); (1995-98); "Utopic Caracas-Utopic Orinoco" (1996-97); «MAP Project» (since 1994); «Banco Central del Cóndor» (since 1999) and «ProyectoMAPA América del Sur» (since 2000) Exhibition Tribute to matter (1996) Exhibition Caracas indelible, gallery Siete al cubo Caracas 1917 Caracas Horizontal Exhibition (200 books by 400 artists), La Caja de Chacao Caracas Restless Hands Exhibition SIXTH REPUBLIC Gallery, Madrid.
