Statement
Carolina Agüero's photographic work investigates her social concerns, based on these concerns she constructs visual themes that seek to be reflective of local identity. Her interest in topics of great socio-political complexity such as gender violence, Human Rights, lesbianism, transsexuality and marginality, arise from our way of relating to others.
“I am interested in provoking analysis, reflections and deep sensations in the viewer. I approach my themes from respect and sensitivity, with a contemporary aesthetic perspective. Fundamentally, I propose photographic images from authenticity, inviting us to reflect from a critical point, regarding a heterogeneous and unequal society in its rights.”
