Manu Muniategiandikoetxea, born in Bergara in 1966, is an artist who graduated in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country, specializing in Painting and Sculpture.
Muniategiandikoetxea has presented solo exhibitions in renowned institutional spaces, including Sala Rekalde in Bilbao, where he garnered attention with "Ni ez nain hemengoa" in 2004, the Centro de Arte Caja de Burgos (CAB) with "Baga biga higa" in 2007, and Koldo Mitxelena Kulturunea in San Sebastián with "Behar Gori Primavera Azul" in 2008.
Furthermore, he has participated in notable group exhibitions, such as the "Muestra de Arte Joven" at the Spanish Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid in 1994, "Pintura Mutante" at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MARCO) in Vigo in 2006, and "Planes futuros" at Baluarte, Pamplona in 2007.
His work has also made a presence at important international art fairs, including ARCO, where in the 2006 edition, his work was part of the "Sixteen Spanish Art Projects" curated by María de Corral. He also participated in the FRIEZE ART FAIR, ART BASEL MIAMI BEACH, and the CIGE China International Gallery Exhibition, the latter in 2008 with a solo project titled "El Bosque de Ozú / Ozú’s Forest."
Throughout his career, Manu Muniategiandikoetxea has received numerous awards, among them, the First Prize in Caja Madrid's "Generación 2000," the Gure Artea Prize from the Basque Government in 2000, the Endesa Award in 2001, and the Altadis Prize in 2005.
His works are part of esteemed collections, such as the ARTIUM Museum in Vitoria, the Unión Fenosa Collection in La Coruña, the Contemporary Art Collection at the Museo Patio Herreriano in Valladolid, the CAM Collection in Valencia, the Altadis Collection, the Caja Madrid Collection, the Kutxa Collection, the Junta de Extremadura Collection, the Collection of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, the Fine Arts Museum of Álava, the Banco de España Collection, the L’Oreal Collection, the Coca-Cola España Foundation, and the collections of the cities of Pamplona and Vitoria, among others.
