Statement
FUNDLESS is the abysmal cry, premonitory of the pandemic. I remember the day I arrived at my studio and I had the uncontrollable urge to tear these cloth that were like gigantic pixels, portraits, still lifes and some inner city space like the Teatro Colón. The works suspended like veils in space make up an abstract setting where color-shape planes emerge in a new figure-ground relationship, now without background. The series made as a "découpage", a collage-mosaic of photographic paper painted with graphic inks, lacquered and then pasted on canvas, I tear them until I test their resistance, and I discover the delicate cottony white paper that awaits under the laminated sheets, (made entirely with recycled material). Each standard format module of photographic paper is replicated in a grid of 8 x 12 parts in width and height respectively, structuring a diptych of 96 total parts.
