Yutaka Mori

Bio

Yutaka Mori is a young Japanese artist who attracted to sculpture by Chillida, Oteiza and Gaudi travels to northern Spain around Barcelona, Basque Country and Asturias, where he finally sets up by entering into Oviedo Art School, in which his works call the attenton of the school’s managers from the first moment.
In the beginning, he starts doing a research on different mediums such as paper, wood or canvas until he immerses himself increating unique pieces inwhich, you’re firstly attracted by plastic beauty, but where the artist creates something much more
complex converging architecture, painting, sculpture and mathematics.
His work is little known, although his creations are conceived with a beautiful delicacy and are of great aesthetic quality. Having clear Japanese influences, in Yutaka's work colour is perceived subjectively by the viewer depending on the distance from which the creation is seen. Different levels of paper produce a vision interlaced with colour. His pieces are dynamic and optically pleasing, as well as being charged with a poetic meaning beyond a simple game of perception.
Even though showing his work meant for him total nakedness, Llamazares Gallery convinces him in 2014 to present his pieces to JUSTMAD5 Art Fair’s proposal.
From that moment on, his success is so overwhelming that his career takes off in a meteoric manner, including his name among important exhibitions, international art fairs and becoming part of renowned public and private collections.
