Ramón Cáceres

Bio

Ramón Cáceres is a painter, sculptor and restorer born in 1944, in Quiindy, Paraguay. He studied painting and music in Asunción and emigrated to Brazil in 1970, settling in São Paulo, where he developed his artistic career. Ramón participated in numerous group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, and held seven individual exhibitions in Brazil, one of them at MASP - São Paulo Museum of Art, being presented by its then director P. M. Bardi.

Statement

Ramón Cáceres' paintings lean towards geometric abstraction. His constructive painting often refers to flags. In the preface to the catalog of his last individual exhibition, at BNP PARIBAS, in São Paulo, an art critic stated that “among artists originating from constructivism as a whole, and concretism in particular, Ramón Cáceres has a special place in Brazil for his refined sensibility and for his remarkable quality of harmonizing shapes, colors and rhythms".
