Matías Allende Contador (Santiago de Chile, 1990) is a researcher and curator of contemporary art, he has particularly developed research involving art and contemporary culture in the Southern Cone. He has had a strong museal experience, and even was a permanent researcher at the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of Chile (MAC), also worked as a curator at the National Museum of Fine Arts of Buenos Aires (MNBA).

He has worked as a curator for various spaces in Santiago, where he highlighted INDEPENDENCIA (Independence) at the GAM Cultural Center, PLAYPEN 4.SCL Edition for Metales Pesados Visual y Colección (Visual Heavy Metals and Open Collection) at the Schacht Palace - Weekend Gallery. In addition, he is a co-author of Utopia Work: Architectural modernity in the Popular Unity of Chile and Ciudad Sísifo. He is one of the main editors of the Catálogo Razonado. Colección MAC (MAC Collection), from the Museum of Contemporary Art. He has written for art critic magazines and participated in congresses and research groups in Chile, Argentina, Germany and France. Active member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM-Unesco) since 2017.
