María Jesús Rodríguez

Bio

María Jesús Rodríguez (Oviedo, 1959). Graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Oviedo. Her work has been exhibited in numerous spaces such as the Museum of Fine Arts of Oviedo, the Nicanor Piñole Hall (Gijón), the BINZ 39 Gallery (Zurich), the Hall of the Principality of Asturias (Madrid), the Barjola Museum (Gijón), Revillagigedo Palace (Gijón), Llamazares Gallery (Gijón) or the Junta General del Principado de Asturias and as part of the ABRA group, founded in 1980, in the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias (Oviedo), Westbroadway Gallery (New York) or the Historical Building of the University of Oviedo (Oviedo).
In 2019 he received the Silver Medal of the Principality of Asturias, and also has the First Prize of the National Painting Competition of Luarca (Asturias), Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture of the Principality of Asturias, Scholarship and Workshop of the BINZ 39 Foundation (Zurich), Prize in the Competition for the Integration of Works of Art in the Multiple Services Building of the Principality of Asturias (Oviedo). He has carried out public work projects such as Na Memoria, sculptures for the Europa Park (Gijón), Sculpture for the General Assembly of the Principality of Asturias, TRANSFER Project, (Scholarship and Workshop in Münster, Germany), Path of the 12 Bridges (Vegadeo) or Los Reguerones, work for the facade of the Health Center La Luz (Avilés).
