Mario Morales uses geometry, kinetic art, and scientific knowledge as resources, and his visual discourse is built upon these foundations. He assumes abstract content that, without absolutizing the reference vocabulary, manages an aesthetic experience linked to the fields of mathematics and physics. With an obsessive and handcrafted approach, his work updates its place within the fields of kinetic or optical art, but it does so from the subjective distances/heights that the viewer may adopt. His sharpness in observing and translating the world into vibrant lines and a perfectionist crossing that tends toward simulation and illusion is, to say the least, enviable. "What this has meant, concretely, according to the critic Justo Pastor Mellado, is being the bearer of a resemanticization of geometric abstraction, toward a type of hybrid figuration that stages its own mechanisms of restriction."
