Pablo Armesto

Bio

Pablo Armesto, born in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, in 1970, is a visual artist with a extensive career of solo and group exhibitions in prominent cultural spaces. Currently, he resides and works in Spain.
Among his solo exhibitions, you can find "Alborada" at the Aurora Vigil-Escalera Gallery in Gijón, "More than Light" at the Marlborough Gallery in Barcelona, and "Light on White" at the Marlborough Gallery in Madrid. Armesto's works often explore the interaction between light and form, creating a dynamic and captivating visual experience for viewers. He has also presented solo exhibitions in other renowned locations, such as "With Its Own Light" at the "As Quintas" Exhibition Center in La Caridad, Asturias, and "Inside, the Rain" at the Barjola Museum in Gijón, Asturias.
Throughout his career, Armesto has received various awards and grants. In 2017, he was awarded the First Prize at the XLVIII National Painting Competition of Luarca, a notable recognition in the artistic field. Additionally, he received the Second Prize at the X National Painting Competition "Casimiro Baragaña" in 2014 and a Diploma at the XLIII National Art Competition of Luarca in 2012. Statement

Pablo Armesto is an experimental contemporary sculptor who captures decisive moments through his light-based works. Last year, Pablo was honored with the XLVIII First Prize at the National Painting Competition of Luarca, as well as an Honorable Mention at the XX Painting Competition of Villaviciosa, Asturias. Likewise, he has been the recipient of grants, including the Barjola Sculpture Grant (2009), Museo Antón Sculpture Grant (2008), and FIB-Art'05 Grant (2006), among others. His works are part of significant collections such as the Evaristo Valle Museum in Gijón, El Corte Inglés, the BBVA Collection, the Culture Council of the Principality of Asturias, the Bodegas Otazu Collection in Navarra, Jardines del Príncipe in the Royal Site of Covadonga, and the Sculpture Park of Candás in Paseo de San Antonio, Candás, among others.
An artist whose works explore the connection between light and technology, he has had the pleasure of showcasing his work individually on several occasions, including "Alborada" at the Aurora Vigil-Escalera Gallery in Gijón (2018), "More than Light" at the Marlborough Gallery in Barcelona (2018), "Lumier" at Azur Gallery in Spa, Belgium (2017), "With Its Own Light" at the "As Quintas" Exhibition Center in La Caridad, Asturias (2016), and "Inside, the Rain" at the Barjola Museum in Gijón, Asturias (2006), to name just a few. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions at events such as Estampa, ARCO, ART-Madrid, Art Marbella, and in cities like Oviedo, Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, Lima, Geneva, Lorient, among many others.
