Rachel Valdes

Bio

Rachel Valdes was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1990. She currently lives and works between Madrid and Havana. Valdes develops her work through different mediums including painting, sculpture, installation, and photography. She graduated with honors from the National Academy of Fine Arts "San Alejandro" in Havana (2006-2010), where she later taught different workshops and lectures for students.
Valde’s hallmark is the creation of multidimensional environments that transcend immediate reality. The aesthetic language of her work is based on the relationship between man and nature, in which the artistic object is the perfect connection between the sensory spaces of both.
Her work is part of numerous private and public collections, including The Donald Rubin Foundation, New York; The Rockefeller Brothers Foundation, New York; Pérez Museum Miami (PAMM); and Fundación Calosa, Mexico.
