Carmen Ortiz
Bio
Fine Arts degree from Universitat Politècnica de Valencia. Her artistic career runs between drawing, painting, sculpture and installation. He has exhibited at Fairs such as: InterArte, ArtValencia, JustMadrid, Estampa Madrid and SWAB Barcelona and in foundations and public spaces such as LaCaixa, Ibercaja, LA NAU University of Valencia, Centre del Carmen of Valencia and Museum of Contemporary Art of Bitón. She has also exhibited in various showrooms in Poland, Venezuela and Brussels.
Statement
The poetics of Carmen Ortiz is placed against the current and dislodges everything that has to do with spectacle and excess. Ortiz works by subtraction, and her formal tools are emptiness, ellipsis, white color, geometry, and shadows. This reductive character is consistent with its thematic inquiry: the creation of minimalist spaces and new architectures that urge the public to interfere in the search for the subtle, the sensible, the soul, the future or the nature of time.
