Statement

Yiriane Kahn’s artwork is a refuge where the conscious and subconscious collide to reveal different states of matter. As such, the canvas embodies introspection and uses colour as the master tool with which to achieve it. In this process of internal discovery, the artist focuses on a variety of themes: landscape - atmosphere - environment - identity - femininity - birth - transformation. Kahn’s paintings invite the viewer to participate in a process of introspection while learning about her own. Colour, movement, and form become a reflection of the viewer’s soul.
