A film on the sculpture artist Leo Vinci (Buenos Aires, 1931) presented by BAFICI, The Buenos Aires  international Festival of Independent Cinema (BAFICI) presents Leo Vinci: When Bodies Collide, a film on the sculpture Leo Vinci.

Between poetic observation and cinematographic portrait, this film delves into the universe of the sculptor Leo Vinci. At 92 years old, Leo plays at creating and transmuting the sacrifice of daily work into the sacred office of transforming the world with his hands.

Leo Vinci enters his studio with an agile and easy step: he is 90 years old but he walks and works at an incredible speed. Franca González films him finishing several sculptures, all variations of his well-known torn figures, men devastated by some evil whom Vinci captures in painful twists or with a perplexed expression. The director contrasts her turbulent biography (she survived the bombing of Plaza de Mayo in Argentina) with the calm of the workshop and daily tasks. More than half a century after having fought against the mandates of an ossified academy, Vinci, less Renaissance than romantic, works inventing the right means for each new work.
