Statement

The work focuses on finding possible dialogues between the landscape as a construct and the memory of the individual. The relationship between the subject and the landscape where she lives, the construction of memory and its role in the appreciation of the environment. From these observations, works emerge that speak about the relationship with the environment with the flower as an object and with the feeling of nostalgia.
It is not a realistic, scientific or botanical representation of the flower, it is rather an exercise in reflection on the present and memories, using the flower as a sign of this representation.
Currently, Raffaella Descalzi's production focuses on discovering the forms and discourses that emerge from a nostalgic look at the past in places that appear to be in a state of decline.
