Bene Bergado
Bio
BENE BERGADO (Salamanca, 1963), has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country. In 1987 she obtained the Artistic Creation Scholarship from the Provincial Council of Vizcaya and was a Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Basque Country from 1987 to 1997. She currently lives and works in Madrid.
Her works inhabit the intricate devices and processes in which reality, reality and fiction are articulated and disarticulated in experiential hybrids. In her sculptures, everything is simultaneously plausible and equivocal, suspicious and truthful. Everything is shown as a representational crossroads that appeals to memory and narration, to memory and fiction, to concreteness and mirage, to lived experiences and the force of the imagination. And the springs of fiction become indiscernible from the mechanisms of consciousness.
His work is present, among others, in the collections: JUMEX (Mexico), Estrellita Brodsky NY Collection, Bank of Spain (Madrid), MUSAC (Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla y León) León, ARTIUM Museum of Vitoria, BILBAO Arte Foundation of Bilbao, Provincial Council of Vizcaya, Autonomous Community of Murcia, Youth Institute of Madrid and Higher Sports Council (Spain)
Statement
Sculptor where her works, with an ecological vision, are considered with a vision of the future, about renewable energies, modified foods, transforming the scale, she proposes recycling, reusing and redistributing. Works on processes between reality and fiction through the transformation of scale in its representation.
Additional information
